Sarah Gair’s family and colleagues join forces to raise funds in Peter’s memory.
Following the death of her husband, Peter Gair, back in October 2018 at just 45 years old, Sarah talks with sadness about her husband’s struggle with pulmonary fibrosis and life-changing impact it’s had on her family and his colleagues.
Pete was a highly experienced quantity surveyor, fantastic husband and father – he tragically leaves three children, Thomas, Grace and Harry aged just 3, 6 and 9 years.
An initial donation to the charity of £320 was collected at Pete’s funeral and his colleagues at Turner and Townsend have agreed to donate Christmas Raffle funds. Earlier this year Pete’s work colleagues held a charity golf day and funds raised will be donated to APF. Further activities are in the pipeline.
The children’s school has adopted APF for donations and to date raised an incredible £1,000. Sarah’s brother and other family members are hoping to get involved in a run and Pete’s friends are also planning various events during this year. As Sarah says:
‘I think people are channelling their grief into fundraising to find comfort and hope. Pete was clearly a much loved man, sadly missed by all who knew him but how fantastic that they are now united in a fundraising mission to help support others’.
