If you would like to start a local Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group in your area we can help.
Having a disease like PF – or helping to care for a loved one who has it – can be very isolating and, at times, very frightening. We know that support from other patients and their families can really help. There are already several successful and well attended pulmonary fibrosis support groups across the UK so we know it works! But where to start?
We believe that pulmonary fibrosis patients want and need support that is focused specifically on them. Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis will work with you to achieve that.
Key aspects of successful supports groups are:
- There are a few patients/carers wishing to establish a group in their area
- They have the support of their consultant and/or specialist nurse
- Attendees are offered a range of relevant topics that will help in coping with PF
- Sufficient time is allocated at each meeting for members to chat and exchange experiences
We look forward to hearing from you.
