Northern Region IPF Support Group

This is the local support group for any patient, carer, family, friend or anybody affected by Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).

This group has been set up to provide information and mutual support for people with IPF, their carers, family and friends. So whether you are interested in learning about the condition, want to know more about living with IPF or would like the chance to meet others also affected, you are invited to attend our meetings.

We have held talks covering IPF, oxygen – why, assessment, equipment, ambulatory oxygen, holidays, what is palliative care, what can palliative care do for me?, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), managing breathlessness at home, pulmonary rehabilitation and exercise maintenance, new treatments (Pirfenidone and N-acetylcysteine) and support in the community.

All this along with social meetings of the group.

We are supported by the following organisations:

  • Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis
  • The British Lung Foundation
  • The Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust

Please come along and join us.
