Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis > Find a support group > Chester Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group

The launch of a new pulmonary fibrosis support group in the Chester area took place on 2nd September 1997 at The Pavilion, Upton by Chester. The meeting was a huge success and around 22 patients, carers and relatives attended making it a lively and friendly meeting.

Samantha Roberts, Respiratory Physiotherapist Specialist and respiratory lead from the Countess of Chester Hospital, attended the first meeting alongside Lorna McLauchlan the support group co-ordinator and Wendy Dickinson, charity ambassador from Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis. A presentation was given about how the charity is working to support people living with the disease and the benefits of groups.

Anyone affected by pulmonary fibrosis, patients, relatives, friends and carers are welcome to attend the meeting which aims to bring people affected by pulmonary fibrosis together, to learn more about their condition and to support one another.
