Bedford Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group

On Tuesday 20th June 2017 the Bedford Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team arranged the first Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group to take place for patients in the Bedfordshire area. Despite the very hot afternoon over 30 patients and relatives attended the group with a good number volunteering to be part of a committee, to take the group forward with ideas for talks and events.

The following meeting on 22nd August continued to be a terrific success with 32 patients and carers attending and feeding back the huge benefits and enjoyment that they gained from attending the meeting.

Programme of meetings:

20th February- Splendour of the Ouse- talk on the Flora and Fauna along the Ouse Valley.

17th April- Bobby Van (Community Police regarding safety in the home)

19th June- AGM and talk from Remap (retired engineers on the design and making of  mobility aids)

21st August- Local Pharmaceutical Committee of Bedfordshire

16th October- Gunns Bakery (Bedfordshire Clanger)

18th December- Biddenham Bell Ringers and Christmas social

Meetings run on the 3rd Tuesday of every other month.
