Report from the Task Force on Lung Health published today
Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) is delighted to support the launch of the Task Force on Lung Health recommendations today at the British Thoracic Society Conference in London.
Steve Jones, Chair of APF has ensured the views and and experiences of people living with Pulmonary Fibrosis have been included throughout the year long consultation process and says:
“APF played a critical role in the development of the Task Force recommendations, together with other lung health charities, medical and other professional bodies. APF will work to ensure the recommendations become reality for people living with pulmonary fibrosis now and in the future.”
The Task Force was developed because lung disease is the 3rd largest killer in the UK, with 1 in 5 people being diagnosed with a lung condition at some point in their lives. Yet there have been no improvements in life expectancy over the past 10 years unlike other diseases such as cancer, stroke and heart disease.
