APF Speaker at major scientific conference

Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis was delighted that the British Thoracic Society (BTS) selected Dr Marlies Wijsenbeek of the University of Rotterdam as the first APF speaker at the Interstitial Lung Disease Symposium at its prestigious Winter Meeting on 7th December.

Dr Wijsenbeek spoke to an audience of over 200 leading consultants and scientists on “Optimising quality of life in patients with fibrotic lung disease”. She focused on how patient reported outcomes can be used with patients with fibrotic lung disease and on palliative care. The slides from her presentation will be available soon on the APF website

Early on the same day, APF Chair, Steve Jones spoke to the BTS Specialist Advisory Group (SAG) on Interstitial and Rare Diseases, a grouping of leading ILD respiratory consultants and specialist nurses.

Dr Helen Parfrey, Steve Jones, Dr Marlies Wijsenbeek and CEO Louise Wright
