Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis announces sponsorship of new health care professionals network
Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis – the voice for patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) – is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the first ILD-INN network.
The network aims to improve care for patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD).
This new network has been established to influence improvement and developments in ILD care across interdisciplinary HCP teams in ILD patient care. The news was announced as ILD-INN held its Inaugural Conference in Birmingham on 9-10 October 2016.
Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis has been working in partnership partnership with the ILD-INN since its inception earlier this year to deliver an extensive programme of ILD specialist nurse training to community and practice nurses in more than 16 regions across the UK.
The nationwide training programme is designed to increase knowledge of typical IPF symptoms at primary care level and help achieve earlier diagnosis for patients.
Karen Hughes, Chair of Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis, who will be speaking at the conference and representing the voice of the patients, says:
“Our decision to support the ILD-INN network as principal sponsor comes as a direct result of listening to our patients. Our recent IPF survey emphasised the vital role of dedicated ILD specialist nurses and the importance of earlier diagnosis of the disease.
It is a privilege to be working in partnership with the network whose values we share in seeking to promote awareness and extending HCP education across the UK.”
