Generous Donations given to Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis from Bereaved Family Members in Swansea

The past few weeks have seen the sad passing of 3 popular members of the Swansea IPF Support Group – Fred Elgie, Keith Crawford and Ian George.

Action for Pulmonary fibrosis was honoured to receive the generous donations in memory of each of these good friends of the support group and the charity from their widows, Marian Elgie, Maggie Crawford and Fran George at last month’s Swansea support group meeting.

We are proud and grateful that David Rees – an energetic ambassador for APF and member of our Voice of the Patient Council – was on hand to receive the cheques on behalf of APF last month.

The first photo features Maggie Crawford with David Rees, Dr. Harrison and her two daughters. Maggie is herself a retired nurse and one of her daughters is also a nurse at Morriston Hospital. In the second photo Fran George is attending the event alongside with Dr. Kim Harrison, Associate Professor and Honorary Consultant at Morriston Hospital Respiratory Unit in Swansea.

David Rees is the energetic and committed Chair of the Swansea Support Group and both he and Dr. Harrison are long-standing friends and supporters of APF.

Many thanks to all of you in Swansea.
